Indications
Simparica TRIO is indicated for the prevention of heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis, and for the treatment and control of tick infestations, including black-legged tick (Ixodes scapularis), Gulf Coast tick (Amblyomma maculatum), American dog tick (Dermacentor variabilis), and brown dog tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus). It is also effective against flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis) and intestinal worm infections such as roundworms (Toxocara canis) and hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum and Uncinaria stenocephala). Simparica TRIO is suitable for dogs 8 weeks of age and older, weighing 2.8-5.5 lbs (1.25-2.5 kg).
Possible Side Effects
The most commonly reported side effects of Simparica TRIO include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, anorexia, and excessive drooling. In rare cases, neurological signs such as tremors, ataxia, and seizures have been reported in dogs taking isoxazoline class drugs, including Sarolaner. Use Simparica TRIO with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurological disorders.
