These chewable tablets can also be used to prevent heartworm disease when concurrent treatment for cestodes is necessary.
Indications
- Tapeworms(Cestodes): Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp. ,Echinococcus spp., Mesocestoides spp.
- Roundworms(Nematodes): Ancylostoma caninum, Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Trichuris vulpis, Crenosoma vulpis (for reduction of infection levels), Angiostrongylus vasorum (for reduction of infection levels in immature adult (L5) and adult parasite stages), Thelazia callipaeda.
Possible Side Effects
In rare instances, dogs may exhibit systemic signs (such as lethargy), neurological symptoms (such as muscle tremors and ataxia), and/or gastrointestinal issues (including vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, and drooling) after receiving Milprazon. If any adverse reactions persist or worsen, consult your veterinarian.
Precautions
Milbemycin oxime has a lower safety margin in Collie dogs and related breeds, so strict adherence to dosing is required. The product has not been studied in puppies of these breeds. It should not be used in dogs with microfilaremia, or in weak dogs with kidney or liver failure. Veterinary consultation is necessary before use in areas with a risk of heartworm disease or if the dog has traveled to such regions. Puppies under 4 weeks old rarely get tapeworm infections, so treatment is unnecessary. Keep the medication out of reach of animals.
Milprazon Protective Measures
- Not for Human Consumption: Milprazon is intended for use in dogs only.
- Use with Caution: Caution should be taken in the case of concurrent use of the veterinary medicinal product and other macrocyclic lactones.
- Consult Your Vet: Consult your veterinarian before using Milprazon in debilitated dogs or dogs with impaired kidney/liver function.
- Storage and Handling: Keep the chewables out of reach of pets and children. Do not open the package until needed. Each tablet should be placed in the blister pack compartments and stored in the outer box. Wash your hands with soap and water after handling the tablets.
