NexGard Spectra for Dogs 16.1-33 lbs (7.6-15 kg) is an all-in-one, broad-spectrum chewable treatment designed to protect medium-sized dogs from a variety of parasites. This beef-flavored chewable is easy to administer, ensuring stress-free monthly treatments that dogs love. NexGard Spectra combines two active ingredients, Afoxolaner and Milbemycin Oxime, to provide comprehensive protection against fleas, ticks, heartworms, and intestinal worms.
Indications
NexGard Spectra is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis) and the treatment and control of tick infestations, including black-legged tick (Ixodes scapularis), American dog tick (Dermacentor variabilis), Lone star tick (Amblyomma americanum), and brown dog tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus). It also prevents heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis and treats and controls adult hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum), roundworm (Toxocara canis), and whipworm (Trichuris vulpis) infections. This product is suitable for dogs 8 weeks of age and older, weighing 16.1-33 lbs (7.6-15 kg).
Possible Side Effects
The most commonly reported side effects of NexGard Spectra include vomiting, itching, diarrhea, lethargy, and lack of appetite. In rare cases, neurological signs such as tremors, ataxia, and seizures have been reported. Use NexGard Spectra with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurological disorders.
Precautions
Afoxolaner and Milbemycin Oxime, the active ingredients in NexGard Spectra, belong to classes of drugs that have been associated with neurologic adverse reactions such as tremors, ataxia, and seizures. Use NexGard Spectra with caution in dogs with a history of neurologic disorders. This product has not been proven effective for puppies less than 8 weeks of age.

Contraindications

Do not use NexGard Spectra in dogs that have shown adverse reactions to isoxazoline class drugs. NexGard Spectra is also contraindicated in puppies less than 8 weeks of age.
