Indications
Stronghold is indicated for the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis) and the treatment and control of ear mite (Otodectes cynotis) infestations. It also treats and controls intestinal hookworm (Ancylostoma tubaeforme) and roundworm (Toxocara cati) infections. Additionally, Stronghold prevents heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis. This product is suitable for puppies and kittens up to 5 lbs (up to 2.5 kg) and can be used from six weeks of age
Possible Side Effects
The most commonly reported side effects of Stronghold include temporary hair loss at the application site, mild temporary skin irritation, and salivation if the animal licks the application site immediately after treatment. In rare cases, pets may experience vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, lethargy, and hyperactivity. If any adverse reactions persist or worsen, consult your veterinarian
Precautions
Selamectin, the active ingredient in Stronghold, belongs to the avermectin class of antiparasitic agents. Use Stronghold with caution in pets with a known hypersensitivity to avermectins or any of the product’s components. This product has not been proven effective in puppies and kittens less than 6 weeks of age

- Year-Round Protection: Stronghold can be started at any time of the year and should be continued throughout the year without any breaks to ensure continuous protection
